yo yo yo, klingenfriends!  this is my, oh, second blog posting.

ever.

(it's a big world tonight.)

More Links

Hey everyone,

In light of what we have discussed today in our diversity sessions, I thought I'd pass on this link. It's a PBS series called "Out of the Past" which includes gay and lesbian history in the United States from the colonial era to the present.

Also, in light of tonight's technology workshop, I thought I'd post the wiki I used from economics class last summer. It is not very good and I did not use it a lot with the class, but I was wondering if anyone else has used this technology or has ideas for how it might work in their classrooms. All ideas are welcome!

Capturing Streaming Video

If you use Firefox, this plugin will allow you to capture streaming video (ie from YouTube, etc) and save it on your computer. You may need an .FLV player to play the videos-- if you do, I recommend the Wimpy player just because it's super easy.

Here's some stuff I use all the time:

Great self-contained units for many areas of history, including fully laid-out lesson plans. Some freebies, but you'd have to pay for most of them.

A wealth of Human Rights education materials and lesson plans for all ages.

Paul Halsall's indispensable collection of documents from the Ancient, Medieval, and Modern worlds.
